Seagrass Processing

We have a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to help us process seagrass plants so they are ready for planting.

Must I live locally?

You can, but you don't have to, this is open to everyone. It will be located at our Seawilding HQ on the shore of Loch Craignish

Why?

We think transplanting seagrass plants are the key to restoration at scale, however we need many hands to help us process them. Our team harvests seagrass roots from our donor bed - these then need to be carefully assembled into bundles and an iron washer attached to help give them purchase on the seabed. Once processed, the seagrass rhizome bundles will be planted out by our team to form vitally important new meadows - see video below for more information.

What do you need to know?

No experience necessary, this will be all on shore volunteering so no need to get wet but it can get mucky!
